How do you remove the rectangular leather rear seat console on a 2001 VDP? The leather on mine has been damaged, and I want to swap it out.

 

You first have to remove the wood trim,
The wood trim has pegs on the back that fit into friction bushes.
you just have to pull it up, best way is to leverage it out from 1 of the corner, i use a 90* dental pick .
After that you have 2 screws that hold the console to the floor pan and another screw that hold the switches trim plate to the console
