In the 2001 XK8 I figured how to find the fade, bass treble etc without the handbook. I turned the radio up high in the rear section. I heard practically nothing so they must be blown. How are they accessed, further thoughts, replacements?

There are no convertible sedans that I know of.
Are you sure you have a sedan?

Jaguar did release several TSBs related the XK (X100)radio 'perceived' issues.

Customers were always complaining about the sound system in the Coupes/Convertibles but it was NOT always a fault.
It was the customer not understanding how the system worked.(unless the wrong FRONT speakers were installed)

The rear speakers are SUBWOOFERS (not regular speakers) in the Coupes/Convertibles.
