Rear Windshield Seal

Rear Windshield Seal
Well to my great disappointment I had noticed that from all the rain I had water in the trunk. Tonight I took everything out of the trunk. The liners, the spare tire, and everything else I could, except the battery and fuse box. I was hoping it was coming from the antenna as that would have been an easy fix but that does not seem to be the case. I think it is coming from the lower corners of the rear windshield. When I pull up the outer rubber seal there seems to be a gap. It is not rusted at all. Could the seal constrict over time? This car is 16 years old but is in pristine condition with only 60k miles. I know the car has spent most of its life in the garage in Florida. Has anyone ever replaced their rear windshield seal or had it done by the dealer? I am lost on what to do other than get the rear seal replaced. Any input would be great. Thanks.

I would check to make sure that the drain tube (for the fuel filler neck seal) is in place. Next I would check the seal around both tail lights. I would remove the tail lights and clean out any debris that builds up around the seal. It accumulates from when water drains off on the sides of the trunk channels. There should be a faint white residue as a witness mark if there's water entering.
