Red light issue
Red light will come on my 99 XJ8L. It will not hardly run, it goes into limp mode.I can pull over on side of road, shut off the engine then restart and it will go back to running normal.Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 times of shutting engine off and restarting, then finally runs normal. Does anyone know the cause of this?

You really need to read the stored codes. Just take it to Autozone or other store and ask them to read the codes, then come back here with the actual codes, not their interpretation.
We don't know what year/ model car you have. Use the USER CP at the top of the forum page to include the information in your signature.
If you are within range of Douglasville I can assist.

There are three connectors on the throttle body. Denso used gold plating on the male pins and Jaguar used tin plating on the female pins in the plugs that connect to them. There was a service bulletin about changing the tin plated pins to gold plated if customers were reporting problems.
My suggestion is to disconnect each connector and clean with aerosol electrical contact cleaner, particularly the female connector and then add silicone bulb grease to the connector before reconnecting.
What you are describing is also affected by whether it is raining or humid when you have this intermittent problem.
I kept getting Restricted Performance which was resolved by cleaning the existing tin plated female pins and adding the bulb grease. Apparently, the tin and gold end up with higher resistance. The ECM and Throttle body are very sensitive to slight changes in resistance.
