Default removal of gear box tunnel

hi guys.

anybody know the most straight forward way to get the gearbox tunnel out.

it doesn't appear as simple as on the old xj40.

I need to get the gear selector out to change the electric module on the side of it......

cheers

it's been described in earlier threads but you might want to download JTIS from the stickies for the complete procedure

Look at this other forum thread (view its post# 1) It has instructions and photos on how to remove the gear shifter:

10 minutes job. You need a 6 or 8 mm key, a cross screwdriver and a torx (I forget the size, 30-40 I think). Most tricky is to pull out the shifter leather surround trim, usually two credit (or debit?) cards are recommended to take it out.
