Well here is what happened. I have a 2000 XJ8 L. My father removed the fuses to the radio while thinking he was removing the fuse for the fuel pump. The car had to be jumped off because of a dead battery. Now there is no radio, no code, no nothin. So i went through every fuse in the car, all 4 fuse boxes. No blown fuses. I also replaced the ones for the radio, even if they looked fine. Still no radio. The CD player in the trunk has power, it will eject the CD holder. I need help. I listen to the radio all the time and its getting way to quiet. Thanks, J

Disconnect a battery terminal for a minute or so and then reconnect it. This should reset the system. The electronics can get stuck in a bad state by a discharged battery or the electrical spikes from a jump start.Originally Posted by jhines

Not really, but there is less chance of shorting your wrench accidently if you do the negative terminal.

Does the car have the factory or an aftermarket radio?

Jaguars are not jump start friendly, especially when the battery is completely dead. If your headunit will not turn on and the fuses are good it probably fried.
In the future, it is better to disconnect the dead battery and use the other car or charger to charge it for a few minutes rather than jump starting the car directly.
Chances are you can find a replacement used headunit on ebay for not too much money.

Check again on F9 10A lefthand heel board and F3 5A in the trunk fuse box.
According to the diagram, these are the only 2 fuses, apart from the aerial, you need be concerned about.

unplug the connectors at the back of the radio and verify that you have power going to it.Originally Posted by jhines
Thats what i was afraid of. Thanks for the help. IF anyone else sees this and has any ideas i will be checking back periodically.
If yes issue is with the radio ( I have a spare 1 I can sell you) if not, check wiring/fuse/etc
