Default Removing rear seat?

I am trying to get to the "wall" between the rear seat and the trunk and either cut holes in it or remove it all together to get my subwoofer bass from the trunk to the cabin, but I don't know how to remove the rear seat and I have no owner's manual. Can anyone help with this?

Do you know that you have a gas tank behind that seat?

You have 2 bolts on the lower seat one on each side below the seat floor board at your heal. You will see them when you remove the fuse box covers. The back has 2 bolts and you will see them when you remove the lower seat.

Thanks. I know the gas tank is back there but I was told by a custom shop that this is still possible. If it isn't let me know and I won't waste my time.

I would not go messing with anything around the gas tank for the sake of a subwoofer. You are increasing your chances of something going really really wrong. I don'ts even think I'd want one back there at all really, all that rattling around the gas tank could losen up a seal and then you'll have electronics booming around fumes that you will probably also be breathing in if they don't ignite first. Just food for thought.

BTW almost anything is possible, but is it worth it?

Ok, so in that case, how would you go about improving the bass in the cabin with the subs in the trunk rather then just having the trunk rattle?

You can modify the package tray above/behind the rear seat - as a way to get air/sound from the trunk. That's where my stock sub already is, so there's already a 6x9 sized hole there. Not a lot of room above the fuel tank, but with some ingenuity you might be able to get there.

So if I remove that stock sub, that hole may be enough to get the sound through? If that all I can do with that package tray?

I'm about to try the same thing. How did your project go? Should I turn back now?
I have thought of widening the 6x9 hole to hold an 8" shallow mount subwoofer or a regular sized woofer raised two inches vertically behind the headrest. I found an electric metal cutter online, but I have not purchased it yet. The stock sub is also directly above the gas tank. The gas tank is also wrapped in electric wires near the fuel pump opening.

Should I buy a fire suit and fire extinguishers first?

Maybe I should just put the 8" sub in the hole for the arm rest in the back. It's almost exactly 8 inches wide and 4 inches deep + whatever is behind it up to the metal wall separating the gas tank area from the back seat. That appears to be sealed.

You can put more 6x9 subs in the package shelf, that electric sheetmetal cutter or a cutoff wheel should work well...There is just barely room above the tank for them.
The subs will fire against the rear window glass which will eventually distort the sound as well - perhaps a hollow rear armrest is the better answer, it's certainly an easier undertaking!

All those perforations in your package shelf will certainly make fuel pump replacement easier when the time comes!
