Default Replacement Cataytic converters

I need to replace the Cats on my 2001 XJR. Apparently the OEM California flange/bolt-on types are no longer available from the dealer, and I don't want the cut/weld universal types. Are there any aftermarket ones? Who can tell me what else is out there new without going to the bone yard?
Thanks for the help,
Scott

Hi
Magnaflow has California approved Aftermarket Catalystic Converter for 2001 Jaguar XJR - their part# 446704.

Here is a jpeg file of their catalog with chart showing the part# for your Jaguar:

The lowest price I could find on the internet for Magnaflow part# 446704 was $177.51 Plus $9.53 to your CA zipcode from Max Auto Supplies.

Here is a JPEG file of the Converter on their site:

They are located in San Jose CA

You might want to contact MagnaFlow customer service to make sure it is an exact fit.

Default Catalytic converter

Thanks Jim,
I saw those, but they are the universal type that require cutting and welding to fit. To keep the car more serviceable, I am looking for what Jaguar installed stock which just bolts on. I am told that there are none of these available and neither Jaguar nor any of the aftermarket guys manufacture them anymore.

Hi
You are right, I called Magnaflow Tech support. It does require welding to install their universal converter.

Did you look at the on Parts Greek website?
They have an DEC (Diversified Evironmental Catalyst) aftermarket converter products

W0133-1939169 Left side 2001 XJR - California approved - $554.85
W0133-1935883 Right side - same price

Boy - that is a lot more dollars for the bolt-up new California Converters, still less money than the ones from Jaguar Dealerships (Part# NNF6701AD Left & NNF6701AD Right - $1800 to $2000 each - if they are still available).

Ebay Seller wundercarparts has the DEC converters for your CA XJR:
Left side - JAG91944D $501.16 free shipping or best offer
Ebay listing 130629282077

Right side JAG91944P $501.16 free shipping or best offer
Ebay listing 140679835220

Vehicle fitment on the Ebay listing says 2002 XJR, but I called the seller and he looked it up in the DEC catalog and the parts fit your 2001 XJR and other XJ year models.

Here is DEC website link:

Hi
Here is an update on the DEC Catalystic Converter - same Ebay Seller has 2 new listings:
Item number: 130629282128 DEC Part# JAG91944PM (right side) $431.10 or best offer - free shipping

Item number: 130629282982 DEC Part# JAG91944DM (left side) $456.93 or best offer - free shipping

These are Direct Fit California Legal Catalytic Converter for 2001 XJR

I also found information on why they fail and what to look for if they do fail:
