Salvage
Tears, tears.
Wrecked my kitty. '98 XJ8, 160k miles, strong engine--no leaks, uses no oil, smooth as a purring kitty should b, trans solid, new-ish (mabe 6k miles on them) tires, good interior, etc.
Rt side @ rear door smashed and rt axle/suspension gone. Much good tin/parts.
My question for all you kitty lovers: Whats this XJ8 worth as-is to someone who needs parts or for salvage? It would cost more than it's worth to repair.
Craigs list?

as long as this thread is about advice for parting it out and value, I can leave it here. When you start talking about breaking it up, I'm going to have to move it to the For Sale area.
Not selling yet. Looking for value. May buy one that needs eng/tran and swap stuff. Will keep all posted.

x308 parts with 160k on them are a hard sell....
In this area, it's not difficult to find several wrecked cars in junkyards with 50 - 70k on them, which of course makes more sense given the labor expense, service life, etc.
Many yards won't buy a wreck with over 70k on the clock for just this reason.
