I am having problems with my memory buttons, in that one mirror is correct and one isn't, the s/wheel goes down not up on exit etc etc

Is there any way to get this fixed by reset? Could I do it?

try a hard reset - disconnect the neg cable from the battery and hold it to the positive post for 20 seconds. Replace the neg and re set your memory positions.

Also, do you have a handbook as you can check the relevant fuses/relays too.
