This shade of gray was only offered in 2002, very rare. I've only spotted two other Jags in this color during my 6 years of ownership. Stopped to take photos both times

Mine is the Vanden Plas, the XJ8 was just parked there. The other gray clone that I had spotted (years ago) was actually another VDP, likely the only two VDPs existing in this color in NYC.

 

 

Really rare here, I've spotted one red in really rough cosmetic shape & I sporadically see a gray one about.

 

Excellent photo vdpnyc! Not only a rare occurrence for color match, but an excellent picture for comparison between a standard XJ8 body and the "L" and Vanden Plas body.

I have seen 2 other Carnival Red Jags in the 12 months I have owned mine, plus two white ones, a dark blue one and a green one.

Mine is a 96 X300 with the inline 6 in Nautica paint color and I saw my twin leaving the local grocery store with 4 teenagers in it .

I'll never forget that sight as it looked like they were joyriding it after stealing it from the Queen but were trying to look inconspicuous by acting like royalty

Someday I will park next to them in the same position and freak them out ( you got punked )

I've got two identical in my driveway, One 2000 and one 2001, both light blue XJ8 AJ27 X308 base models.

 

I saw a super v8 in that dark grey color. My god it looked so good. I have yet to see another sport in Dallas. It's weird though, since I got my car, I see them out more often than before.
