Default Sill Paint

Sills (rockers). I suspect originally the top/clear coat would have been the same as the body. But over the years, along with the stone chip undercoat, they now have a dull appearance. Would just like to check before refinishing.
Thanks.

Many finishes can be buffed like new...unless your an experienced painter, I'd take it to a couple shops and have them evaluate what they can do. Depending on the condition, they should be able to cut the clear and rebuff and relay another clear. But again, that depends on condition. I'd also call your nearest Jag dealer and ask whom they use for their body work and paint. I have to have some pin-striping redone and they freely gave up the info.

Thanks H. And for confirming that is the same as the body finish.

Mine is spindrift white and the rockers appear to have yellowed slightly. Its been garaged all its life, much of it garaged during daylight hours too, but then you'd expect the top to go bad rather than the bottom with more sunlight and weather exposure. My suspicion is that it has something to do with the bumpy "stonechip" coating on the rockers which underlies the topcoat white. Maybe over 20 years the color of the stonechip coating is bleeding through or maybe just a chemical reaction between different coatings. Or maybe it was that way when it was new. I got it in 2011 and possibly just didn't notice it until a few years ago I had it up on a lift at eyeball level. Ever since then its seemed more obvious.
