Default Single clunk during acceleration

I've just started to notice a single soft but heavy cluck sound coming from the back during moderate acceleration on my X308.

There are no tools in the trunk...

Any thoughts what it might be?

Any other reportable issues? (Vibration or wobble) My logic line starts leading to suspension parts.

Is it always at the same RPM? In the same gear? Anytime while cornering?

Although it might be a variety of causes, I have a single clunk at acceleration.
After a while, figured out it was only with someone sitting in the passenger seat.
Traced it back to some play of the chair in its tracks, which I still need to resolve.
Just in case...

For the past few years, I get a clunk at times, almost always when driving from cold, that I have never been able to locate. In my case, I also sometimes get it when backing into the driveway or a parking spot (old telephone co training never dies so I always back in to a parking spot so I have clear line of site when leaving).

I've been suspicious of 2 possible culprits:
1. the parking brake - possibly a drum doing a slow release or hanging slightly on reversing. However, any time I have pulled things off to look, everything looks good so I just soldier on.
2. The exhaust hitting the underbody where it transits over the rear axle. A couple of times, I have thought I found enough movement that I'd fixed it, but after a while the noise comes back, so I'm never sure that this could have been the cause.

Thanks for your ideas, but the sound has stopped now for some reason...
