Default small coolant hoses

I am doing some work on my 02 XJR and having a bit of a problem sourcing all the small plastic coolant lines -- the small ones that bleed off any trapped air back to the reservoir. I know a couple of posts have mentioned them recently. My local dealer has placed two orders for me -- Jaguar shows them but only lists three and actually the XJR has four -- and one is obviously two part numbers (the one going to the intercooler).

One I did receive is incorrect --- the one going to the thermostat --- as it is missing the final hose. I know they updated them a couple of times -- but I find it strange that this has proven to be so difficult.

So ... I am trying to put together a list so I and other can get these. When you get the new hoses as see how pliable they are and how stiff and brittle the original ones have become the need to change these becomes apparent.

I too have an 02 XJR. I just bought and replaced 3 of the 4 you speak of a few weeks ago.

It is my opinion that you likely only need 3 of the 4 because the 4rth one that travels along the fender is never exposed to the high heat of the other 3. I'm saying that because I just changed the 3 which are exposed to heat after one actually failed and spit coolant all over the place. If you feel this 4rth one you may find it still pliable and feeling similar to new.

The 4 part numbers for my 2002 XJR, from the dealer were:

MNC4565AB Pipe-Bleed SP $35.82
MNC4564AB Pipe-Bleed SP $37.35
The Above 2 are two parts to the same long tube that goes to the front of the supercharger cooler/radiator

MNC4583CB Hose $27.59
MNC4582BC Hose $22.12

Thanks -- The car was at the Jaguar dealer today for A/C work and I asked about the hoses -- the pictures they had did not show the correct tubes for the XJR -- so this is a great help.

I agree on the overflow tube - most likely not needed -- but naturally that hose came in correct -- so I'm going to replace ti.

WaterDragon: Thanks for the part numbers. Looks like I need the same two part numbers for that long hose to the intercooler. How hard was this to replace? I don't see anyway to get to the front connection at the intercooler -- did you take off the upper radiator cowl?

MNC4582BC ($14.07): Jaguar also sent me this part number for the thermostat bleed line -- but my car has a small right angle hose on the end to the thermostat housing attached with on shot clamps .....not the two quick connects as supplied. How is yours setup? -- from the link that SeanB provided looks like my car used a later setup and I need a BD part number.

The other two parts MNC4583CB ($19.00) main radiator bleed and MNC4468AD ($25.08) from the overflow ............look to be correct.

To get to the connection in the front of the supercharger radiator I simply removed one of the front grilles and reached in. This gives plenty good access.

Attached are photos of my connections. Keep asking if I'm not completely answering your questions

Thanks for the photos.

You do have a different connection to the thermostat - for whatever reason Jaguar eliminated the quick connect at that location -- so I have the incorrect replacement hose.

Did not think about removing the front grill -- I figured it was covered by the evaporator -- great tip.

Perhaps a previous owner changed the fitting because the disconnect broke?

Plums -- I'm the original owner.

The small rubber hose is formed at a right angle and the plastic hose has a barb -- they used pressed on hose clamps ... so the replacement is going to have to have a different clamp

The picture of the expansion tank/ hoses in the parts diagram is a bit confusing - but I think I have it figured out as long as that BD part is a good number and available.

hi,
on my car (daimler super V8) I also have a right angle connector instead of the quick release for the thermostat bleed hose. I wonder how you solved it? (I know the original post is old, but I hope you still remember)

here is a picture: https://photos.app.goo.gl/G5AFFtvT21pWowNE7
