just as the title states, i will run my car to University, about 12 miles, and when i park i notice smoke coming out from the hood, but it smells like burnt oil, not like almonds, when an engine overheats but i can't pinpoint where it is coming from. has anyone also had this problem?

 

Oil leaking from the valve cover gaskets leaking on to the exhaust manifolds would be first guess.

 

That was happening to my 2000 Vanden Plas. I went autocrossing and the engine was smoking!.....Its not a big deal if its the valve cover gaskets. That was my car's problem. You can easily see if they are leaking. They will look wet and the exhasut manifold will have signs of oil on them. Check your oil level periodically. I would get it fixed though. Its not an emergency, but I wouldnt wait forever to get it fixed.
