Default sourcing expansion tank hose in Uk or Ireland

I just snapped my expansion tank hose which runs from the thermostat housing to the expansion tank. (? Also known as the bleed hose / pipe ?) Part number W0133-1629070-OES and shown on attached link:

http://www.jtote.com/product_info.php/oes-genuine-expansion-tank-hose-for-select-jaguar-vanden-plasxj8-models-p-118157?currency=GBP&osCsid=432okdu49nfgh7odm4v1o7g f12

I’m in Ireland but usually end up shipping form UK. The pipe is only $15 in USA but I am looking at £40 plus on UK web-sites. e.g. a hose set from Britishpart.co.uk
http://www.britishparts.co.uk/.sc/ms/bdd/ee/4881/EXPANSION%20TANK%20HOSE%20KIT

1. Does anyone know where I can buy this expansion tank pipe for less than £30 in UK or Ireland. ?
2. Would I be totally mad to patch over break with flexible fuel line and jubilee clips ? (The snap is at the elbow)

Thanks Graham

Which elbow? The one at the rubber hose end? If so, cutting it cleanly beyond the snap and using a longer hose would seem to be a reasonable solution because it is really just making that portion longer. If the bend needs to be sharp in that region, just use two pieces of hose and a right angle hose mender.

I would try a Jaguar dealer, you would be able to buy just the hose that you wanted instead of the "kit" and someytimes the dealer prices are less than you light have thought

I have some parts but am unsure if that exact item is in my stores. However, I think if you replaced it with a rubber section it wouldn't be a problem as it was someone's poor decision to use plastic parts. It wouldn't affect the way any of the cooling system worked if you used a rubber section.

Thanks everyone,

Main dealer purchase turned out to be the cheapest option at about £12. Main dealer the cheapest option .... stranger than fiction !
