Default Strage noise

Had the whole last week a strange noise for a couple of seconds, when accelerarting only, and just at the beginning of the acceleration. After that nothing.
So i passed by the Jaguar service which is luckily exactly 12 miles from my home, and had it checked by the senior technician, as he was driving. He couldn"t imagine what was the problem, which was comming from the right side of the engine area.
When we looked underneath, he saw the problem.
Just the heat schield of the right pipe was loose at one point, and he fixed it back with a clip! Was touching on the xcaust pipe , as the car accelerated and the pipe moved slightly, that made the noice. Now is fine.

Esprit turbo is one of my dream cars...there's one for sale near me, I was thinking of selling a few Jags to pay for it. What year is yours? Are you glad you bought it?

It is almost ...antic, but in excellent shape , like new, as i allways take extreme care of my cars. It is a 1990, ,white with blue sits, and 218 HP originally frm Lotus. But my mechanic turned the Turbo further, and instead 0.65 bar from the factory, it now has 1 bar.(max that the Lotus mechanics allowed us to do )they said it now produces 250 HP.
Yes, i am very happy with it, allthough very sensitive car, had to pay as much i bought it in repairs allready.3-4 times only i broke the fans at the front for the cooler, as it is only 5 inches from the ground. You must plan your route if you go somewhere, and know every ..hole in town!
Otherwise excellent car,. specially the chassis, goes like on rails, .No luxury at all inside, only AC, but with the glass sunroof, is impossible to drive in hot climas during the day, there is no roof cover, only glass.(To give more head space to the driver, as car is only 45 inches high)

Agree, one of my all time favorite cars. I almost bought an 84 Esprit 2 years ago, glad I didn't since the company moved me shortly afterward and it would have been in storage for almost 18 months... not good.

The stevens body is nice, but have always been a fan of the Giugiaro body style. And would never own the V8 model way too much hassle.

Of course the 89.5 and up has the bigger turbo which would be very nice.

Joey
Agree fully with you.The Giugiaro design is timeless. The 94 model the S, looks awfull compairing with ths one. This is the real, classic Esprit.I believe the best model Lotus ever produced. But is twin carburator, and not injection, thats why the S model has more power.

Very nice looking Stevens model. I will say I love the white on blue...

So is it as hard to find tires to fit the original 15 inch wheels over there as it is here... speed rated that is.

Very hard to find tyres, you hit the nail on the head...
Specially those strange 215/50/15 at the front...Jesus! And 235 at the back.
I have a direct number to parts department for Lotus in Norfolk, and all i need to do is call and order. They send then with DHL, in 2-3 days i have it. ( They charge my credit card)
