I have a 2000 Vanden Plas and the sunroof is going haywire. At first it just got stuck in the open position and would only move a tiny bit forward and then all the way back again. I closed it manually and then it worked fine for a couple cycles. After that happened the sunroof would stick halfway and at other random intervals, without a real pattern to its malfunction. I tried it the other day and it cycles all the way through when you push the button...it opens then closes then tilts then closes and repeats until you touch the switch again and then I have to manually set it back. Any ideas on this. I'm bringing it back to the dealer, but I just wanted to be armed with information as best I could.

I have one on my XJ8 and I believe it has been open once. It's not something I find too useful. Just something else to break, really.
