Welcome to the forum Danile357,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help forum to X308 forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help you troubleshoot this issue.

When you get a minute, please follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...-intro-must-5/ to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Good luck with the fix.

Plug in an OBDII reader and check for codes.

Press the schrader valve on the fuel rail and check for a strong stream of fuel after cranking.

Remove a coil and spark plug and check for spark.

Is the starter spinning normally but the engine just not firing or is it not turning over?

You mean the starter turns but the crankshaft does not?

Same question as Sparkenzap. Is the crankshaft turning when starter turns? If not then it sounds like the starter is not engaging with the "flywheel ring gear". Please confirm.

Might I add one more question- how long was the car sitting before you fixed it?

Well, if that is the case, forget codes, cylinder wash (its a condition, not a process), crank sensors and virtually everything else in this thread. I guess everyone assumed it would be obvious that if your starter is not turning th eengine, then either the starter "Bendix" gear is broken or you have something assembled wrong and the starter cannot engage the ring gear.
Frankly, I would expect that a person who could successfully R/R a transmission would be able to tell why the starter cannot turn the crank. After all, you are there looking it at it and we are not. I say this not to bust your chops, but rather because I suspect one side or the other of this conversation is "failing to communicate"!

is the small wire connected to the starter solenoid? this engages the bendix to ring gear.
