Default Sway Bar bushings

So I am getting that little clunking sound as described in the forums here so I thought I would try a cheap fix and replace the sway bar bushings.

The problem is, I don't know what to get.

I am trying to buy them online except I am not certain if I have a "comfort" suspension or something else. All I do know is the sway bar runs around the car where the bushings are mounted and the bar is about 1.25" in diameter.

I'm looking and this.....

OE Aftermarket Sway Bar Bushing

Any insight?

Thanks....

These new bushes will have a big improvement to any vibration you have with your car. To check if your suspension is Comfort or Sport, check if the rear suspension have a sway bar; if yes, you have Sport, if not, it's Comfort.

Try to have the bushes from a dealer, he will send you the right ones, in Europe it's 5 $ each, Genuine, maybe there it is maximum 10.

You will find complicated procedures to change them over the web, but a very simple one is to go under the car and take one bolt off on each side. It's a half hour job.

I should be good then since I am only doing the front. That is to say the front sway bar is the same regardless.....

I second the Jaguar dealer route, they'll ask for the VIN and send you the correct ones. They're cheap also.

So I just replaced the front sway bar bushings......for a Jaguar it is about as easy as it gets!

and shame on Jaguar for the ridiculous procedure in JTIS to replace them. If I had a lift it would be a 15 minute job....max...

Just one more comment... Just got back from a test drive and the new bushings made quite a noticeable improvement.... noise is gone and steering feels tighter around turns (though this is subjective).

Best $15 I've spent on this car and a pretty easy job. I would say anyone with an XJ8 with over 100K miles to go ahead and replace them.

Have to agree, took more time to find my wrench that to replace bushes.

Left the shield on. Just used an extension.

Still have noise from rear.

Default rear noise

My rear end noise was from lower shock bushings. I think they were $15 piece. Noise is gone. Need to do my sway bar bushings asap - vibration is driving me crazy.

Replaced all those rear shock items, cost about $400, didn't make a difference and tech said old bushings looked good.

Still have the rear noise, no clue what it is.
