throttle position sensor / trans relationship
im trying to resolve a rough downshift issue , also when pulling a hill and backing off the gas, the trans hasnt been shifting into a higher gear , yet staying in the current gear as if i had a "shift hold" button. trans upshifts smoothly, but sometimes is slightly harsh when pulling to a stop and shifting back inti first. could a TPS cause or improve the interaction between speed and gears?
thanks
thanks
Just as a long shot, there is also a throttle cable adjustment that needs to be correct, that can sometimes cause some of these symptoms. As the cable gets old and stretches, the throttle pedal does not necessarily correlate with the throttle plate position. Anyway, do a search on throttle cable adjustment. It's easy to do, so at worst you would be out a bit of time.
