So I have a 1996 XJ6 LHD and I've taken great care of her but I feel like its time for an upgrade. She has been nothing but dependable to me and I want to make sure that I am making the right choice so I am posing the question, would I be wrong if I sold my 96 and bought an 01? How reliable is the newer XJ8's? Is there anything I should look for when I go look at the car? Thanks for the tips guys!

 

I left my 1995 blk/blk XJ6 and never looked back. For a real treat, upgrade to an 'R'!

Once the main issues are sorted out it should be a pleasure to own and drive. Others will chime in with what to look out for.

 

I drove a 1999 XJR with 110,000 miles on it today, and if you are going to upgrade I would agree with dsnyder586 get a XJR. I drive a standard XJ8 which I love; but the XJR is certainly more fun!!!
