Default Waterpump impellers / plastic gernades

When did jaguar change from the crappy impellers that would blow up to a better impeller? Was it early on or am I sitting on a gernade and just don't know it... yet???

Was there some moment in production when it was addressed that I can use to see if mine is a better one. Believe mine was built mid June? July? of 2000 or thereabouts.

Appreciate your thoughts.

Where did my signature go? Hmmm

Only the EARLY Black Nylon 66 was considered FAULTY.
Subsequent Black Poly Phenyl Sulphide and White Poly Phenyl Sulphide impellers were satisfactory.

About the same time that BMW faced the same issue, very late 1990’s.

That doc is excellent cheers, as I'd been wondering the same thing about how to identify if I had an early pump or not.

Do you happen to recall if you can see the number on the pump without removing it?

That would be too good to be true. I'd love to know the same thing.
