Finally found time to reset the codes using the jag computer.
I did replace the diff and suspension bushings previously but didn't bother with disconnecting the battery.
Result was that the cats suspension defaulted to (super) hard, and the jag went from Comfort to Go-Kart.
Clearing the codes makes it feel quite different, but I still find the ride a little hard - might have the tyre pressures up a little high.
Wish I knew a little more about understanding the icons in the jag software though!

I really don't know - it's an ebay special with no name on it, via an old laptop.

Okay. With my Chinese Mongoose cable IDS doesn't even list adaptive damping or instrument pack to the dtc list. Not the mention like body control module or front seats. I know mongoose is limited on these cars but..

Seems to be that finding a reputable Chinese mongoose knock off cable is far harder these days.
There's a few threads on it but that's why I ended up getting the laptop and cable together - if it's not a done deal, ask for the refund straight away.

Bought it years ago. It works fine with sdd. But it is very limited with ids. I think it is just too "new" so it doesn't know how to handle older protocols.

Thought I'd look into removing the rear muffler bolts, only to find that they are coach bolts!
What kind of clever chap thought they wouldn't turn once slightly rusted and mounted into plastic and one skin of sheet metal?!
So much fun getting those out.

Finally pulled the trigger & got the 5 Layer Custom car Cover, it's been on my list for years. Oddly enough it arrives week plus ago & just sits in my floor lol. I think it's time I ensure it's a correct fit etc.

After a long thought, I decided to try selling the Coupe, but keep the Vanden Plas (tooooo much work into that one over the last years).
Drove it to my friend in the south of the island, did some interior work on 2 x308's there, then found the time to replace the totally screwed donuts on the rear of my car.
It lifted the car an inch, now she is balanced again.
Fantastic drives down and up ... 700km in total, love this car to pieces.

Replaced the starter (contactor had gotten worn and pitted). Went for a spirited drive with a few hard pulls, stopped and noticed the idle sounded kinda funny and rattly... Got back home and it's still being noisy. Found the vacuum line going to the evap purge solenoid had broken and was just sucking air in... Heat shrinked and taped it up temporarily. Also noticed LTFT's were all pretty high at idle (+14), taping up the vacuum line brought them down to +10 at idle. Driving around a few minutes the next day, trims looked OK except at idle and when rolling (ex downhill) with throttle closed, then they jump up to +10ish.

No idea on the noise though, put some fuel system cleaner in the tank on the off chance it's the injectors getting noisy. Stethoscope didn't seem to help much except telling me that injectors are clicky. Really hoping it's a temporary thing, and doing high revs with a vacuum leak didn't damage something from running too lean. I'll have to get my vacuum gauge from my parent's place and see if that reveals anything. Maybe pull valve covers and take a look, or look in the oil pan (where I JUST put new oil in) for bits of metal, and so on.

I had new tires mounted! They’re Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus IIs in size 235/55R17 (.87” taller than the factory 235/50R17s) and are an incredible improvement from the previous Bridgestones in terms of noise and ride quality. These are obviously not for the canyon carver, but for a silent, plush, and isolated ride, the combination of tire and size is amazing—no rubbing anywhere, either!

I’m very pleased that the spare (with taller tire) fits nicely in the boot, too!

Thanks very much!

I recently acquired this lovely beast after years of yearning for an X308, and I’m so incredibly privileged and thrilled to be its caretaker.

A little late in posting, but it’s kept me busy on a number of things since my acquisition, such as:
new fuel filter, brake fluid change, TB & MAF sensor cleaning, intake plumbing cleaning, new S/C & drive belts, diff fluid change. Last but certainly not least, the relentless P0171 & P0174 lean codes were resolved by 3 vacuum leak repairs: dipstick tube o-ring, EGR pipe (had small hole welded—bought new pipe as backup), brake booster vacuum pipe brass collet.

Oh yeah, might as well share the new shift knob upgrade from BritishCarWoodwork on Etsy.com :

I finally got around to replacing the two trunk support struts so that the trunk lid no longer closes slowly on my head.
I bought them off Amazon for about $50 Canadian and they fit perfectly and work really well. The ends mounted to the trunk hinge
were easy to remove/replace but the other ends mounted way back beside the gas tank were more challenging. I finally made a
wooden wedge out of a 2"x 2" garden stake and popped them off by wedging between the strut and the part of the body where
the 'ball joint' was mounted and tapping the end of the stake. Popped them off in no time!
To put that end back on, I wedged the spring clip on the strut open slightly with a long piece of coat hanger wire, placed the end of the
strut over the mounting ball, then pulled the wire out, releasing the spring clip. Voila, done!

So I thought to be smart, and arranged for an original passenger side window switch to be used for my exhaust cut-outs.
The switch used till now always bothered me for the look.

Well, only after making a new panel, I realized that the window operation is through a module, and that the switch alone will never work on the cut-outs ... stupid me.
As a sweetener, I modified the panel to hold the old switch, then covered it / dyed it to look a bit more original.
On the lookout for a better looking switch though .....

Hi Chris,

Did you have any luck? I assume these are mounted through the rear panel with the nuts in the boot?

Thanks

What size /# is the small tear drop auxiliary bulb in the inside headlamp, can't find anything via search today ?!

Disregard discovered it's the same as the interior dash/dial bulbs. But I get the driver's side replaced w/a nice pretty bright white bulb easy enough. The damn passenger side's grip/handle/extension snaps off leaving about 1.5 inches to grab while maneuvering between the washer fluid bottle etc. grr lol. No room to operate needle nose pliers & I don't feel like removing the whole housing just to remedy the dingy looking bulb lol.
