Changed the bulbs in the instrument cluster ( thank you kyle04), as the right hand side of the rev counter and the left hand side of the speedo were not lit.
Had the job completed inside an hour, the longest part of the job was cleaning up 18 years of dust and grime before putting it all back.
Not much; drove the Jag to do some shopping in the rain. There's just something comforting about being inside the cozy cabin; while the elements are raging outside. Especially when in a X308
Replaced the overhead console lights with working bulbs and an actual sunroof button. Almost feels weird after a year to have a real one there. Tomorrow is climate control bulbs.
Now I really wonder what you had there ... couple of wires hanging out, ready to touch them together to open and close ?
lol not quite. It's just the rocker cap that had been lost. The actual switch panel underneath was still there. Hard to explain but if you ever have to pull the panel down for bulb replacement, and pull the assembly out, you can see how it just snaps on and presses against the contacts inside. But true to form, how much you wanna bet that I'll find the original button piece somewhere down under the seats now that I've replaced it? lol
I took my lady for a drive all the way to the Botanical Gardens of Meise (just outside of Bussels) it was part rainy part wind with sun. On our way back i took the RO highway around the city of Brussels to stretch the muscles a bit. I love the expression on the big Audi/BMW drivers when I overtake them. ;-) My Lizzie kicks *** :-)
Today was the climate control bulbs for me. Nothing fancy, but got pretty good at getting the process down. I think I could do it again in ten mins or less at this point.

I tackled my gauge cluster recently, next up is the C.C. display as I have one out. I found the OEM bulb for $5 w/ free shipping on E-Bay.
Not really looking forward to pulling out my head unit to do so, as I have an after market double din w/a very clean install & I don't want to tamper with it lol.
Anyone know a way to get the display without removing the radio as I've read about here.

Depending on the install of your aftermarket, the CC unit is separate, and can be pulled out separately, if done carefully. At least, as far as the stock setup goes. The hardest part though, is getting a grip on it. That's why it's easier to do it with the radio out, so you can reach under and actually get ahold of it. If you can find a way to grab it, it'll pull out from the tabs above (just don't forget to remove the screw in the center above it). Check Robert's youtube video on it or the one I made today:
Finally installed the Bosch intercooler pump thats been sitting on my floor since December and finished replacing the trans fluid and filter. Only big ticket item left on my list is rear diff fluid replacement and Ive changed every fluid and corresponding filter on her.
Yes we are due a week straight w/ 70-80 degree FH temps & no precipitation, I plan on thoroughly detailing mine. Then making an appointment w/ my paint guy .
FINALLY got a chance to hand wash it before work today. And then toweling off the car, kept noticing drops. Where is this water comin---oh look, it's raining. I still feel better though. Wish I had enough time and less precipitation to have been able to wax it, but soon enough.
Independent got to play with it for two days: new upstream O2 sensor - P1647 - on port side; installed new hose from power steering pump to reservoir; flushed and filled coolant system; greased rear axle zerk fittings. $348. They had a hell of a time with the bolts holding the shields over the exhaust pipe (knew this would be case, reason indy -- Abacus Racing -- got to cherish the fun, instead of me).
Upgraded the radio head unit and now have all the modern tech. I went with Sony MEX-XB100BT. Kept all the OEM speakers and just upgraded the head unit. I think it sounds great and I love being able to stream music from iPhone and hands free Siri control for texting and phone calls. I got the dash kit from eBay, the one with the leaping jaguar.
