Go to CAR-PART.COM and follow search instructions. I searched for a 2000 XJR engine and found several for various prices. The best place on that list is LKQ but they are also with the priciest engine: $2785 for a 120k mile motor. ALL AUTO PARS and MAIN STREET AUTO DISMANTLERS selling theirs for $1600 ea. they are tested and have a 90 day warranty. Elite also lists an engine but ask to call for the price.

I would discourage from buying an engine from a private party, especially if you can't test it. Once you paid for it, it's yours even if it won't work. At least itch dismantlers you have some form of a warranty.

Since my car has only 55K miles, I don't want to put a 120K engine in it.

Sounds like the best thing to do is to do the 4.2 now.

I posted same thoughts in your other thread relating to your current dilemma. The site I sent you is used by body and mechanical shops nationwide. You'll be able to find pretty much anything you need by adjusting search parameters.

I'd go for the 4.2 for the TS application.

Your search, then, has more options: the Range Rover Sport supercharged is also a Jag 4.2. Tho, The sump is bigger and it feeds to a 6 gear ZF, well as, the blower sits higher (the truck is much taller at bonnet). I was told the bearings are stronger than the ones used in Jags. The 05 LR3s also ran a Jag 4.2 (06 -09 ran Brit Ford 4.4s).

On the RRS forum look for a guy with Jaguar in his user name; a transplant living in LA with loads of experience on blown Jag engines.j
