Found below on the site. My prefix 11 is "L". Where was it made? Unless proven different, my story is it was made at a secret location by Q for the 00 agents. Also my body code is "14" for XJ8 SWB Sovereign. Is this just an option package and if so what?
Ok, this could have been fun...BUT!, since I'm such a nice guy.....you need to go back to your driver door and look right at the top of your ID plate (VIN, Man. Date, Weight, Color/Trim Codes) and tell us what you find.
. . . and be aware that there is an error in the VIN Decoder here.
While it will not affect OP, it does have significance for owners of '98 and '99 XJ8s.
From 2000 on, the sequential identifier (positions 12-17) began with an alpha character, followed by 5 numbers
Prior to that, positions 12-17 were purely numeric . . . 6 numbers . . . so there is no 'V' as presented here.
Obviously, more than that changed from 2000.
If I were to use this on my '98, it tells me that it was a USA market, LHD car . . . and that Q has secreted my cloak and dagger in the glove box!
. . . all of which are patently incorrect!
So, a gentle warning seems warranted for others . . .
Cheers

But, given the radical differences between both decoders, now those owning an MY2000 are really confused.
I quizzed Jaguar UK and Jaguar Heritage a few years ago, and there is some thought to the first should have read 'PRIOR TO 2000' rather than the inference that 'UP TO' includes the year 2000.
I have an admittedly quite rare MY98 XJ8 Sport, with a factory fitted array of both VDP and Sport specs, and this carries a VIN starting 'SAJJJ' with 2 further positional alpha-numerics that are not listed on the chart, but since verified by Jaguar as one of a very few similar builds. Hence, my earlier caution.
Every single 'X308' XJ8/R came out of Browns Lane Coventry.
The final Jaguar model to roll off those 2 great production lines - that famous old plant produced merlins spitfires C, D, E types - a major fire and the 'Saturday Club' where Lofty England gathered the Engineers for competition plotting, without any funding brought home Le Mans victory after victory during the 50's - against the very best Italian/German teams. Steeped in motoring history, so many firsts - Unitary construction - independent suspension - disc brakes for pete's sake - this plant created some pioneering developments we see today - they were the first to offer these things to the masses. From Browns Lane. It's now a mixture of housing, Heritage Trust and other companies. Every time I went, I'd always see cars on-test, the latest models being hammered up and down the local 'straight road'.....
An XJ was gifted to the Queen from that line, Daimler spec'.
