Default Spontaneous airbag deployment

2003 XJ8
I posted yesterday about my drivers seat airbag deploying while I was not even in the car. Such a weird event.
I am asking if anyone has any insight as to why this could happen. I need a starting place to have this repaired, and am not sure what to address first. I already have a replacement airbag, and a great upholstery person to repair the seat...but obviously, I don’t want this to happen again, and need to address the root issue.
The only thing I did to the car before this happened was switch out the SLM the day before. I was hoping that would solve my key fob issue I have been dealing with.
I have since switched back to the original SLM that was in the car, as it didn’t solve my fob issue anyway.
I don’t think this switching of the SLM had anything to do with my airbag deploying, as I drove the car at least 50-7

0 miles afterwards, and 10-15 miles that morning before this happened.
Here is he current state of the car.
-Drivers seat airbag is deployed
-Shifter is locked, although I’ve gotten around that be utilizing the bypass lever with a screwdriver through the access hole on the j-gate.
-Master door switch disabled-windows, mirrors, memory seat positions will not work
-All door actuators are disabled. Key will lock driver door (but not unlock it), and locks will not engage with either key operation or engaging gearshift.
-All lights are working with the exception of the rear brake lights (third brake light operates normally), and rear fog lights do not work-front fog lights are fine.
-Headlight “on” indicator doesn’t show on the cluster now, but the headlights work, both high and low beam.
-Driver seat and steering wheel will not adjust- I tried replacing that fuse and it “pops” immediately.
ANY suggestions and or observations would be greatly appreciated!
Many, many thanks in advance!!

There's likely a code stored saying why it was deployed, so read the codes.

The upholstery shop that has the car now scanned and found all kinds of interesting codes. They are the ones that replaced my front seat covers, so having removed and reinstalled the drivers seat, they are going to fix/pay for all repairs. Pretty sure they did "something" when reinstalling that front seat.
Thank you for your reply V8.
