I just got a 2003 XJ8 Vanden Plas that I bought sight unseen on Ebay. The car is making a whistling sound (from the engine). There are no warning lights on the dash board. Does anybody know what this problem could be? Probably last time I buy buy every anything from Ebay. This is my second Jaguar and my first one died after 4 months (engine problems). Thank you

 

it could be the water pump, belt tensioner or the generator bearing, usually bearings make whistle sound.. it's just my version..
