Wind Noise Around Top of Doors
In my new XJR, I feel as though I'm getting excessive exterior wind noise around the top of the front two doors when I'm on the highway. Although I don't have a good reference for what normal sounds like on these cars, it seems as though I'm not getting a good seal. Anyone else have this issue? Recommended fixes?
I have same issue as well. Door two separate seals are soft but the outer has cracks in it. Tried to find it out as others here but with no luck. Mine is not bad bad. But way too much for this luxoriuous car level. Even for it's age.
I wonder if mine may be caused by the doors not being aligned just perfectly. Visually, they seem to be ok, but on the passenger side, the front of the rear door rubs against the front door when I open it.
Take either some WD40 or some silicone conditioning spray and wipe down your seals (to include the trunk). Leave the doors open for awhile (maybe 45 min-1 hr), you may need to wipe them down again if they absorb the oil. I say leave the doors open so the seals can expand as they absorb the oil. This should fluff the seals to help the wind issue.
prof, you have a door alignment issue, there should be an 1/8" gap between doors, when closed, to allow for proper opening.
