Default Windscreen wiper spline looks worn

I had to remove my windscreen wiper which came off surprisingly easily. Once off, I noticed the spline looked slightly worn, but the inside of the wiper hole looked very worn, in fact virtually smooth. Has anyone seen this?
Just hoping there's enough grip when it goes back on, and with the nut on, it won't slip.

Oh dear, this won't fit, but luckily wiper pulled off quite easily.

It would be beneficial if you kept all issues for your wiper problem on the same thread . . . please!

Sorry, but it was a different issue to the lack of water output.
