Good evening everyone......

My wife drives a '03 XJR and it needs a blade. Checked around various sources (Walmart, Autozone, O'Reilly, etc. and all said it takes a 21" blade - so I bought one.

Got home with it, and guess what, the blade on the car is 19"

The car has only a single center mounted wiper blade assembly, and the 19" travels within 1 1/2" of the edge of the glass, and within about 1" of the top. Obviously, with those kinds of measurements, a 2" longer blade won't work.

Do I have something really odd, or are all the references I looked up all wrong?

The wiper blade is P/N GJA8960BB.

Too late for you this time but replacement wiper OE rubbers are available - P/N GNB8961AA. It always annoys me to buy a full wiper blade just for a worn rubber. That's like throwing a wheel away when the tyre is worn.
