hello recently brought my xj8 sovereign 1997 R reg and have noticed that when i put the car into reverse and push the adjusment button only the passangers side dips i dont think theres an electrical problem with the drivers side as i can adjust it normaly no problem but as its my first jag im not sure if both are supposed to do it or just the passengers side

if someone can let me know if i got a problem with the car or not it would be much apreceated

Hi Mmutch,
You do not have a problem with your passenger side mirror. You should also notice that when selecting a forward gear, the mirror should retuern to its normal position.

I have the same function on my car and must admit find it quite useful.

 

yea its really useful my question is that the drivers side doesn't dip only the passengers one does is the drivers side one supposed to dip as well?

 

As far as I am aware, only the passengerside is supposed to dip. Personally, I would prefer both to dip when reversing and furthermore, to do it automatically.

It may well be a dealer programmeable option, I would have check.

It only operates on the passenger side mirror.

Only my right one does this and only wen the button is pushed

 

Used this feature yesterday evening. Worked well, will be using it now I know my XJ8 has it.
