Default Wiper randomly wipes one time

I have found other wiper threads, and I am going to replace the wiper relays based on what I learned from those threads. But I would like the group's opinions as to whether that will fix my problem. Driving down the road with the wipers switched off, my wiper will randomly swipe one time then park. Sometimes it will do this a few times several minutes apart, sometimes just one time, and then not do it again for some time. Always just one swipe. Road surface does not seem to matter. It's like if it hasn't done it for a while it feels like it better do a quick swipe. Wipers seem to work correctly otherwise. Thoughts? Thank you

Here you go. See this video link. It is for a Mercedes, but pretty much applies to a lot of cars.

Have you got the rainsensor? Is that always activated?

Is the wiper actually of or in the rain sense mode. If it is in rain sense, 1st position, then if the rain sense unit behind the rear view mirror is not sealed well onto the glass, it will sense changes on the glass as rain and sweep. If that is the case, then removal and reattaching with some clear double sided mounting tape will resolve that.

I do not believe that my car is fitted with the rain sensing feature. And keep in mind it isn't that the wiper keeps going after being switched off, it's that it wipes on its own with the switch in the off position. Clear day, no bumps in the road, just a sudden single wipe at apparently random intervals. I will try the steps in the video if the relays do not fix the problem tho, because it could be the same problem. Something is sending a "go" signal with the switch turned off, so I'm prepared to believe it could be the switch as well.

When the earth on my BPM failed intermittently, despite the unit being secured by three bolts to the dash metalwork, a random wipe was one of the symptoms. Maybe worth checking yours, it's quite accessible behind the glove box. The solution for me was to run a separate earth down to the gearbox. There is a thread about it on here somewhere...

When you ran a new ground wire, did you just attach one end to one of the bolts holding the BPM in place? Or did you tap into one of the wires?

From one of the bolts worked for me. From memory, the main BPM earth is through the body, the other signal connections are via the multi-way connector.
