Hello all!

I did a search, unable to find info on either.

First, I just bought the interior wood off of Dave's wife's car that was rear ended. The wood in mine has the milky clear that afflicted the 2001s. So I'm looking forward to putting in some nice looking stuff. It got me to thinking that since mine doesn't look good, I was considering painting it "piano black". I have seen that in some Mercedes etc and thought it looked nice. Does anyone know if something similar has been done before and has pictures?

Second, I have seen the XKR pedal covers, does anyone know if those will fit our cars? I really liked the set I put on my Mercedes from the AMG, they were simple stainless with rubber nibs.

Philhef over at the XK8 forum did his in wrap titanium- best part is that you can remove the wrap if you do not like it!

Just figured I could try something different since now I have a set that is crap. I

like the aluminum look, not sure how it would look with the oatmeal interior, but still gives me ideas if not for me, but other forum members as well that may not want to buy or refinish their wood.

I was/am considering wrapping the dash on my XK8, but.....I just cannot bring myself to do it. If I buy a new set that matches I probably will do the other and switch off to see which I like. I have the AGD interior so it would have to be a specific color, not black or titanium.

 

body colour, original in the loft packed in paper, I much prefer my modded set. Instruments have rings and alloy pedals now too, the XK's should fit with a little work.

 

Personally, I like the wood, but piano black would look great with AGD interior, in my opinion. I would think a bit of patience and preparation would go a long way -- I have very little patience, so I'd never attempt it myself.
