Worked on some fixes today
Hey Group, I had the XJR all day today, yippee! Wife had to take the Expedition because she had a bunch of stuff and folks.
Brief history, we've had it three months, bought it from a guy in Atlanta and had his "expert" mechanic change the tensioners. I tune it up and find oil in all right bank, looking from the driver’s seat, wells. I change all the gaskets and clean the wells as best I can.
Fix one. Today it's missing like crazy from 2500 to 3500 but no codes, take a half day from work and pull all plugs, found a tiny bit of oil in the first three, from the radiator back, right bank wells. Check gap on all plugs, cleaned the wells as good as old eyes and a bright light would let me see. Runs MUCH better. Still feels like it misses a beat now and then.
Fix two, cleaned the interior aspirator assembly as described in another post and it works great, A/C Auto function fully restored.
No fix three. Emptied the boot completely and thump still heard from the left rear. Got to be the shock/strut.
Before my questions I have to go on record and say I cheaped out on plugs, Auto Zone only had the Autolite double platinums.
Ok 1. Do I need to run the NGK’s? They have them now and I’ll get them if the engine will run better on them. 2 Is there anything else to check on the coil packs that had the oil around them? (I will pull the plugs again in a week and look for oil) and 3 I’m finding the rear shocks Ok but can’t find the spring bushings. I will rebuild both rear struts with new parts but hate having to get stuff from the dealer.
Thanks for reading, sorry about getting long winded.

Sounds like a good days work
The autolites are probably ok, but you cannot go wrong with the NGK. If you don't care whether they last 50K plus, then you might consider the single plats which are pretty cheap.
The oil in the sparkplug wells will continue until you replace the sparkplug well gaskets. You should avoid oil in the wells because it leads to dead coils and they are expensive.
You might find the small bits for the suspension at britishparts.co.uk

Thanks Plum, I found the oil when I tuned it up a few weeks ago. I actually did change all the gaskets on both sides then and maybe just didn't get all the oil out of the wells. It still misses pretty bad when un der load. Idles fine and drives fine just pooping around town. I'm wondering if one or more of the coils is going bad or maybe I have a fuel problem. I put some injector cleaner in and filled up with Shell. Still scratching my head about the missing. I really need to fix the rear shocks as it sounds like it's coming into the car over every bump.
