Does it replace the Denso ECU (stand alone) or is it a piggy back?

From how I've read it, its strictly a stand alone, but XJR, Sean, greverrr or Waterdragon would have to confirm that. My sentiment is it performs somewhat similar to the FiTech on my Corvette.

Megasquirt is standalone and the name “standalone” speaks for itself (it can run your engine totally by itself).
With standalone generally what it entails is junking your factory ecu then taking those wires (engine management aka fuel inj, coil packs/ignition, knock sensors, cam/crank sensors, upstream O2, MAP/MAF, ect) and soldering them accordingly to whatever standalone system you may be running.
With some popular cars where standalones are frequently installed you can order plug and play harness’ to plug right in, generally speaking that is not the case for a Jaguar. Good old cutting and matching up wires will do the job most likely. From my experience OBD2 ECU’s for modern engine management are usually 50-70 wires and you surely wont need them all for megasquirt

BTW XJR99 forgot to mention i’m very jealous! Thats the perfect setup for what your building, your target is already hit in my eyes. Setup possibilities are practically endless, you can set up a good launch control/2step to help right from the start, dial in a little nitrous, and all the while do it 100% safely. Makes me want to twin turbo mine sooner than later so badly Can’t wait to hear more followup

When that's fine then change from 3" upper pulley down to 2.75" and if still 100% confidence then down to 2.5" and fuel change to E85 or/and water/methanol injection. The minimum target is to go one second faster than car went with old, more stock style engine four years ago. ET was 12.34, so anything slower than 11.34 is disappointment. Cheers.
What software were you using for tuning?

Very interesting thread and car! congratulations on your achievements thus far!

I have a quiet aim for 10.xx from mine (just bought it) too.

Can you tell me how the megasquirt install went in terms of communication with the gearbox?

I see you're running a twinscrew charger, is this on the stock chargecoolers?

How did you resolve the issue with the gearbox going into limp after changing the rear diff ratio?

Thanks

It's MS3 Pro Ultimate. The car was in a garage one year waiting for more motivation and time. Now my guy has worked very hard with it last two months. Many smaller or bigger issues resolved and looks like next step is start up and fine tune. Gear ratio change did not make any problems since a spare TCU was remapped for 3.58. I hope - if everything goes well - some real results of last five years of new engine build will be completed.

Sounds good, look forward to following your progress! How did you remap the TCU?

Generallyf tuning of MB EGS51 is not possible, but years ago one source made tunes for gear ratio changes. They were very expensive. I guess those tunes are not available anymore. Good old days.

So it must be possible, just not widely known how. Who used to provide them?

How did you replicate the CAN signals the gearbox expects from the engine?

Congrats on the recent progress!

Quite promising acceleration results even with normal street tires: 0-112mph @11.5s - not really WOT since based on the logs TB was open just max 75%. SC beltt was slipping, so lost boost about 2PSI. There is actually quite a lot of room up with power - if ever needed. Cheers.

Is it a cable-throttle or drive by wire throttle?
