X308 Bluetooth
Hello All,
I have a 2001 Jaguar Xj8 with the standard audio system,
I have a nokia ck-7w bluetooth kit which I would like to install into the car,
In the pre 2000 models (harmon/kardon) there was a plug under the centre console which connected the star tac phone, this could be changed in order to connect the bluetooth system, this is the plug (picture from a 1998 Daimler/VDP)
I looked on my car (which has the alpine audio system) and I noticed that the two plugs were still underneath the centre console, however they had different colours and were already plugged in to something, hear is a picture.
As you can see, the colours are completley different except for the smaller plug, my car doesn't have the star tac phone in the front, it has the M8989 with a module in the boot. does this mean that these plugs are for completley different things, on one side there is more wires connected than the other on the big white connector, if this connector can be used with the bluetooth module, would anyone be able to explain which colour wire is for which function, thanks.

Thanks for replying, after looking through the wiring diagrams and the Bluetooth guide, I found out that because I have a ROW car (rest of world) and therefore although the microphone and power come to the plug in the centre console, the telephone mute and audio instead go the the module in the boot (trunk), meaning I'll have to thread a wire from there to the centre console.

Question, did this end up working for you? Were you able to use the factory keypad and phone functions on the oem headunit via bluetooth? I have an XJR 100 and have been desperately trying to find the best bluetooth solution that gives the most factory features and doesn’t require and ugly aftermarket mic or call button.
