X308 Brake master cylinder
1999 x308 4.0.
Anyone have info or part numbers for a rebuild kit on the brake master cylinder ?. I have rebuilt other models brake master cylinders, but cannot find one for the x308..
Any after market generic rubber kits perhaps out there that are applicable perhaps?...or a generic new brake master cylinder that fits and is just as good.. maybe a ford part?
Let me know, many thanks
Peter

Initially I thought, I know nothing about brake master cylinders, but I am actually not that bad - it just came back to me:
I had the issue with the brake fluid reservoir (plastic of course) being porous and damaged on my X-Types. I did a long search and found that the reservoir alone apparently cannot be bought, hence, I bought 3 x the complete unit of reservoir and master cylinder from the US via ebay. I think I even figured out, which Ford part can be used there.
And now I had a look for you for the X308, and I think I found your part on ebay (that's just one of several listings and it contains a part number) - it's the complete unit, not just seals:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/23601315032...3ABFBMhtrBoddl
When it's about anything brake related I would not use second hand parts. It's a safety item after all...
PS:
I should actually write the PN here, as any ebay listing would have just a brief shelf-life: JLM20557 / JLM 20557 / JLM-20557
And that's the title / key-words: 98-03 Jaguar X308 XJ8 XJR Power Brake Master Cylinder Booster w/ Reservoir or just Jaguar X308 Brake Master Cylinder

Thanks for the link on that eBay unit.
I can't believe that there is not a rebuild rubber kit for that brake master cylinder. I've rebuilt XJ6 S1 S3 units , which look bigger than this. It's a few rubber pieces and a Hone inside the cylinder wall that's required.
I wonder if there is a ford equivalent rebuild kit.
