x308..missing plastic panel or not?
1999 Jag Sovereign x308... while removing the front wheel arch liner i noticed that the edge of the liner in the front inner side has a screw hole in it, yet it is not attached to anything.
Im thinking that there is either meant to be a bracket from the bumper OR is there meant to be a plastic panel from the bottom inner edge of the bumper to the front wheel arch liner closing off this open underside..
when i poke my head under there all is see is the cooling duct that stretches from the front bumper to the wheel archliner...and the inner edge of the wheel arch liner is not attatched to anything?
Anyone have diagrams or something to sort this out?
best regards
Peter

What you are missing is the 'belly pan' which closes the gap bewteen the bottom edge of the bumper and back to the anti sway bar mountings to smooth out the air flow under the car.
Some lazy sod has left it off ;o)
Also stops a lot of crap getting into the engine bay.
Here is a JPEG file that contains diagram of the Undertray with the part number and other diagrams related to the Undertray.

A missing undertray can causes cooling losses too, as a part of the air that are coming across the grilles won't go across the coolers-radiators, and chooses the lower pressured under side of the car, avoiding the coolers.

Mine was like that when I got it, found a used one from someone on this site who was parting out a car like mine -- used zip ties to attach it instead of screws. Now all I need is the driver's side brake cooling tube.
Many thanks gentlemen for the info.
The part is now on the order list. I like to keep things original on my cars so i restore them to the way they were intended to be by god... Jaguarish!

I must ask while you fellas are here, is there any other undertray on the underside of rear bumper ?
When i poke my head under there i can see the boot floor where the spare wheel sits and the inner curve of the rear bumper withits 4 or 5 plastic vertical brackets.
Am I missing something there or not?
best regards
Peter
