Smile X308 Rear window trim insert tool

What type of tool do I need to refit the metal trim back into the rear window rubber, it was removed to make some repairs but now I need to put it back in and need to find to correct tool to make it easier, I did try the local windscreen fitter but he said he didn't have the correct tool, any links would be appreciated

Unfortunately no they don't do them all day long, not many cars have metal trim in the screen anymore and as I have said "I did try the local windscreen fitter but he said he didn't have the correct tool" the car is off the road so I can't just take it to a windscreen company, the company that came out to my wife's car looked at it but with it being an old trim type they don't have the correct tools, hence why I am looking for the correct tool

Yes you did, my apologies, I read that and still made that statement for some reason? This isn't a Jag, its and MG and its the front screen, but the tools should be the same...
...he starts putting the chrome on around the 12:50 mark.

Here's a site link about removal from earlier models to review.... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...dscreen-82909/ ....and one from the XJ100 forum... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...removal-95502/ ...there's actually a member named glassman in the conversation.

Thanks for that, its a bit different from the Jag but the same principles apply, so its just a bent hook, i'll have a go this weekend and see how I get in, didn't even think about that method, Thanks again, i'll let you know if it works
