where can i buy the 1998 xj8 used engine?

 

Up the road on US 301, there are a bunch of junk yards that have engines for sale. Do an Ebay or Google search

 

The early cars have a different engine number .. you can't just interchange parts on the engine. But, I know that you can install a later whole engine in the earlier cars -- I just don't know what necessary to do it.

Best you check -- with the problem inherent with the early engine ... doing a later one with steel lines would be preferable if not too difficult.

 

Any Normally Aspirated AJ26 engine will bolt right in and 'plug-up'.

1997/98 XK8 or 1998 XJ8 AJ26 engines are all the same.

What do you have to do for the later engines? Seems a little risky putting one of the early ones in w/o knowing the history.
