Exclamation XJ8 instrument cluster warning panel

Hi The screen highlighting the warnings/notices messages has flaked away a lot making is impossible whats being displayed. Is there a way to recover this or are replacements available or does one have to buy another used cluster to get one? If tts new ones available anyone know who from. If its recover/treat - how does one do that please?

All help gratefully received thanks. Greg

It's glued in between the clear plastic and the black label panel of the gauge cluster. If you're very clever you can extract one from another cluster and install it into your panel.

The best thing to do is to buy a used cluster with a known good LCD, and swap the PCB from your cluster to that one. Since you have an XJ8 (I'm assuming based off your title, please add vehicle year/make/model to your signature for the future), it should be fairly easy to find them, unlike the XJR which has a different redline. I'm also not sure if the AJ26 and AJ27 gauge cluster dial panels interchange, the later cars had a very slightly different arrangement of indicator positions I believe (the unused adaptive cruise control icon comes to mind).
