Wow. Don't you have MOT inspections required in the UK? Will that be a problem?

Hi marky151,

I'd be interested in seeing a full side view from a little further back to see the full profile. You could be creating a more elegant version of the old Chevrolet El Camino or Ford Ranchero. What is your plan for covering the fuel tank? And like Rob I'm wondering if MOT will be a hurdle?

Cheers,

Don

Default xj308 pickup

Hi, fuel tank will be lower than the finnished bed so i will just install a inspection hatch out of the hardwood and chrome finnish. As long as the car conforms to current structual and mechanical regulations there should be no problems, according to VOSA i dont need an IVA as the car has less than 8 seats and is over 10yrs old. See a mock up of what i hope it will look like attached.

marky151 was last on the forum in October 2016 so a reply could be unlikely.

Third photo in original post has name and phone number of the garage where it appears the work was being done. The website is active: https://stchristopherscarsales.co.uk/service-and-mot/
Would be great to see how this turned out...

I guess you could make a Jaguar truck. It certainly would be unique.!
I think i would prefer my Chevy Silverado Step Side.
