After the huge success of the XK front shock mounts I've been asked to create the flexible urethane mounts for the X308, and here it is. After more than 2 years on the XK's with no visible deterioration this material should last forever and you should never have to replace the mounts again. I'm told that the aftermarket ones are absolute rubbish, and OEM's are rare as hens teeth. For $80 the problem is solved forever!

Reason: omission
I have to agree with you, they are expensive, and I wrestled with the pricing, but when you take into account the development, mold making, material cost, hours spent at the computer marketing, shipping, accounting, following up, answering comments like this, I don't want to work for $2/hour and I'm sure you don't either. So I have to charge that to make it worth my while. However, that being said you get a quality product, proven in the field to last, made to fit properly, and full support! Garages all over the world are already installing these, and not making some bodgied up peice of rubber!
I bit the bullit, and ordered a set from Peter, they are on the way.
Nowadays, it seems to be very difficult to buy shock mounts which are not deteriorating by just standing .... probably temperatures and humidity here dont help ....
I pressed out the old mounts from a set I still had, and waiting for the new mounts to arrive.
Pretty sure it will be a big improvement, but let see ....

Had a reply from Renaissance Motorcars in Florida after they received their first shipment!Tue, Nov 18 at 5:35 AM"Peter,
Thank you so much for the upper shock bushing kits that fit the 98-03 Jaguar XJ8/R. After installing these to 3 sets of brackets I can say that we are very pleased. I feel that these will last and am excited to install to customer cars."
Since I don't have a press, I made up this simple little tool to Squeeze the parts together and roll over the center tube into the bevel! Quick and effective!
Hi Peter, Thanks for posting this...very helpful for do-it-yourselfers. For those of us who are a bit mechanically challenged, perhaps you could post a photo of the special tool being used during installation of your new parts on a bracket? Also, the diameter/length of the threaded rod would be helpful in gathering up the various components to duplicate your design. (looks like a lug nut in the middle?) Thanks again, Eric
3/8"-16 threaded rod 5" long 3/8" 16 nuts and washers
The center long nut is called a standoff, 3/8"-16 x 1" long, 5/8" AF, ground on a bench grinder to 45 deg.
Mcmaster carr has these # 91115A313
Top U bracket, made from 1/8" x 1-1/4" steel, 1-1/2" high x 1.6" wide. Not quite 1-5/8"
I used phoban's bushings in the spare (original) set of Jaguar OEM brackets yesterday. They came apart fairly easily using a small 3-leg gear puller with a spacer, and went back together using just a threaded rod, a suitable diameter spacer and some nuts/washers. Disassembly of the URO bracket, which had suffered a failed bushing at less than 500 miles, would have required a lot more force (I tried), and probably a torch to heat up the retaining washer. (The hardware is slightly different between the two). A test drive this morning was fine except that the CATS on my car seems to have gone to full firm when that URO shock bracket bushing disintegrated, and it remains stuck on full firm on all four corners. Anyway, I'm very pleased with phobman's product and service.
