I bought a 1999 XJ8 for parts. I have a 1997 XK8. I stripped the XJ8 and sent the body to the crusher. I want to with certainty (yes or no) if the following parts from the XJ8 will fit on the XK8:


-rotors and calipers


-ABS unit from under the hood


-airbags

Practically all the mechanical parts and electrical parts are inter changeable.
The only differences are in some of the suspension linkages and exhausts

 

That's what I was thinking. I could go in the garage and look at my XK8, but she is all tucked away for the winter and I was hoping not to bother her.

Anyone else with any input?

You should be able to get a very good idea about interchangeability by downloading and installing the Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalog from the download section.

Follow the instructions in the thread, especially the details posted by Jim Lombardi in post #75, and you will be able to look up part numbers for both cars on your own computer. That should at least give you an initial idea of which parts are compatible.

I just stripped an XJR and knowing XKs like I do I also say yes all those parts will swap......

Front uprights are the same with the hubs, same as rear, even the seat modules work, I plugged one into an XK seat and everything worked..........

 

Do you know if the radiator reservoir is the same for XJ8 and XK8?

 

It's very easy to answer questions like this at jaguarlandroverclassicparts.com. Just look up the part numbers for both models and see if they are the same.
