Default XJR Brembo & Rear Bushings - Quote

Hi All,

The R is in the shop for some TLC. New breaks, rotors and pads for the Brembo comes in at 1300 - is that good or am I getting ripped? Also, the hop int he rear right was found to be the bushings, both right and left side is 1K out the door....same question...good or am I getting ripped?

Once the above is done I'll get back to finishing the headliner.

thanks for the feedback.

For the brembo rotors and pads from Jaguar are about $850, after-market about $300. ( per axle)
Add about 1 hr labor.
jack-up the car, remove both wheels, remove calipers ( 2 bolts each), remove rotors and install new rotos, pads, put back the wheels and you're done

Need more info...

So does that include new calipers? It is all wheels or just the front?

correction bearings not bushings - i brain farted when i first posted this message.
the breaks were replaced in the front, pads and rotors. The r had what appears to be aftermarket brembo 13 inch, which were replaced with factory jag, 12 inch. I was told the rs, r100 has the 14 inch brembo but the 13's must have been aftermarket. The right rear hub and both rear bearings were replaced which removed the hop to the right - all is good. now just need to finish the headliner ;-)

Whoever is giving you those info has no idea what he is talking about.
On the R1 Brembo option the front are 14" ( 13.97' or 355mm) and the rear are 13" ( 12.99" or 330mm), both about 1" larger diameter than the "regular" brakes.

I'm starting to doubt that you have the R1 option.
Which wheels do you have on your car? pictures?

yes...the factory R1 option started for MY 2001...just an FYI as I have the original brochure (and option) from jag...if you have the R1 you'd also have the two piece BBS 18" rims...

yes milan wheels...either in Oyster or Silver as there are two flavors...oyster is the slightly brown looking ones...once the R1 package morphed into the XJR100 the montreal's became the tire of choice...also i think things were a bit different on the XK's

So you don't have the "R1" brembo brakes option.they will not clear you wheels without some big spacers.
Who told you that yo have the big brake package?
