Default XJR-R1 Brake Squeal

I got potentially bad news yesterday from Buckhead Imports and Butler Tire. They told me that there is no cure for my loud brakes.

What pads are quiet on the 355mm Brembo brakes?

Well, mine don't squeal
I'm using Pagid

I switched from Paggy's to Ferodo DS2500 compounds when running the Brembo's, it cured it. It's the disc/compound surfacing that squeaks when you pull up, I hated it!

Funny thing is the Alcon's I use now are fitted to the XKR-S and they use the same Ferodo's, something in that fact.

Can only remember some brake squeel (for short periods) with the Hawk Ceramic pads I use (4th set is going on soon). But I also had it with Pagids before. It is in the combination of the pad & rotor, so new pads or sanding yours a little, new break-in could already help, but it might be temporary.

Squish, I have the same exact problem. I just ordered some Ferodo DS2500 pads from Forged Performance in Marietta. I'm just waiting on the rear pads to be shipped. I'll probably have Road Britannia install them. Also, be on the lookout for my XJR on Peachtree with some 20in BBS Montreal wheels on it!

I eventually got EBC Yellows for each corner. They helped a ton. There is still a little squeak every now and again, but nothing like the howl that used to come from the rears (Mintex).

ViaPA, I'll be looking for you. Actually I've been hunting you down to buy your old exhaust system...!
