Default XJR Wheel size

Hi all
does anyone know what is the largest rim and tyre combination I can fit under a "99" XJR
The brakes are big, but not Brembo's
I would like to put 285/35 X 18 tyres on 9.5" rims,
has anyone done this or know if it is possible.

I am currently running 18x9.5 Corvette wheels on all four corners on my 2000 XJR, with 275/40/18 tires on the back and 265/40/18s on the front. The rears fit fine after a small (3mm) spacer and removing the rear bump stops. The fronts are very tight, but still fit with a 3mm spacer. 285/35s should fit the rear just fine with careful offset choice, but the fronts will be very tight. You'll likely have to clearance the inner wheel well liner slightly.

Do you have any pics? What about bolt pattern and hub size?

Thank you,

Chris

I'll try and find some pics tonight. But the X308 is on the 5x4.75/5x120.7 pattern, same as older Chevys and the Corvette through today. The only thing I had to do to fit them was that the center bore needed to be expanded slightly, as the Jag has a huge hub diameter at 74mm, and the Vettes are at 73mm. I had it done at a local machine shop for like $25 a wheel.
