Default 1988 XJ 6 inframe

I burnt a hole in #2 piston due to pluged fuel filter and running lean,instead of pulling engine I have plans of droping front suspension to take oil pan of,has any one done this,Kiwi

It can be done and is a great time saver. You will nead a lift,a tall tranny jack (oe fork lift) .Remove whole assembly just disconnect brake hoses and sreering hoses and linkages.You will also have to support the motor when the crossmember is out. Then you have plenty of room. You still will have to take top end off for the job.

Thanks,I took the callipers of front assembly to save bleeding brakes,held front of motor up with ratchete straps and once sub frame was out held motor with straps to engine mounts and wheeled sub out with floor jack,didn't take long at all,Kiwi
